Answer: Scott Newman explains the difference between Forbo, vinyl, cork, and rubber tack board surfaces. Vinyl covered cork is washable and safe to use outside without it getting water damaged. Cork is more of an inside surface as it does not hold up to temperatures when exposed to the elements. Forbo has color all the way through the board and stands up nicely to the elements. Scott’s personal recommendation is a Rubber Tak surface, as it is recycled rubber, resists fading and cracking, and does not show holes from thumbtacks.
