Our Privacy Policy
US Markerboard is a leading on-line distributor of classroom furniture and equipment with our headquarters located at 270 Centre Street, Unit F, Holbrook, MA 02343. We want you to be comfortable shopping with us, so we go to great lengths to protect your privacy and ensure the security of the information you provide us. We want you to understand and feel comfortable with the information we collect, how we keep it safe and that we do not share or sell your information to any outside sources.


Information Collected
USMarkerboard.com may collect and store any information you provide to our website or customer service representatives. For example, we typically keep a record of the information you provide us when you create an account, place an order, email, call or fax us. This helps us process and track your orders for you. It also helps us provide you with a more personalized experience if you shop with us again. We keep track of the following:

  • Your shipping address
  • Your billing addres
  • Your email address
  • Your phone number
  • Your credit card number

We may also collect and store any other information you choose to provide.

Information Sharing
We do not sell any customer information or share it with individuals or companies who would use it to market to you. However, we do share your shipping information with our product suppliers and shipping companies only to facilitate the delivery of your orders.


Email Permissions
Upon registering your email address through our USMarkerboard.com homepage we gain your permission to send you, depending on your selection of interest groups, our quarterly email newsletter featuring new products, industry news and sale promotions. If you elect to unsubscribe at any time you can do so by clicking the opt-out category located at the end of each electronic communication or by calling us at 800-791-2946.


Security
US Markerboard obtains only the information our customers provide to us inclusive of credit card account numbers. Unlike most online retailers that store your information on in-house "mostly" secure servers, US Markerboard uses the most sophisticated and highly secure Oracle servers based in California to secure your personal data and process your orders. Such information will never be distributed to any outside sources. We respect and uphold the security of such confidential information unless business circumstances arise and such information is requested by a court of law.


Policy Changes
We reserve the right to modify our privacy statement at any time, so please review it frequently. We will post any changes here, on our homepage and in other appropriate places so you'll always know what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances we share it. If we make material changes to our policy, we will notify you here, by email or by posting a notice on our homepage or web blog.

Orders & Products

Cancellations
US Markerboard endeavors to expedite all orders to customers as quickly as possible. Many of our products are made to order; therefore orders can only be cancelled with 24 hours from receipt of the order. After 24 hours, orders can only be cancelled with written consent from US Markerboard. If a request for cancellation is made after the 24-hour time period, a return freight charge, and a restocking fee may apply, as well as a standard $12.50 cancellation fee.


Damage Claims
Although we package our product in the most up-to-date materials available, we cannot guarantee the care in which the carrier will take to deliver your order. We highly recommend that all packages be inspected upon delivery, and damages to product or visible damage to packaging be noted on the bill of lading at the time of delivery. If these recommendations are met we will work with you to get a replacement to your order expeditiously.

Items signed for as damaged:
US Markerboard will issue replacement or full credit for any items damaged during transport and will take responsibility for filing claims if the following guidelines are met:
1. Document on all copies of the bill of lading the number of units damaged, and the type of damage. The driver must sign both copies and leave you with one.
2. Immediately fax copy of the freight bill to US Markerboard.
3. Damaged items including packing material must be held for an inspection report by the carrier.
4. US Markerboard will advise you of what you should do with the damaged item.

Items accepted without notation of damage:
All claims for concealed damage must be in writing in the form of email or fax, and must be received within 5 days from the date of delivery. You must under all circumstances save packaging and product for inspection by the delivering carrier.

One special note, if you decide to use your own shipping account for billing purposes, you are therefore responsible for filing any claims directly to the freight carrier. Any replacements will need to be placed as if it is another order.


Returns
Important: We DO NOT accept returns at our Holbrook, MA address. As part of the return process you MUST get a return authorization form and number from your customer service representative. If product is sent to our Holbrook, MA address it will be refused and returned to you at your own expense. Please call customer service to request our Quick and Easy return form. Thank you.

Our return policies follow that of the manufacturers we represent. A return authorization number must be obtained from US Markerboard's Customer Service Department before merchandise can be returned and credit issued. The US Markerboard Customer Service Representative will advise you as to the address the product must be shipped back to. Return authorizations expire 30 days from the date of issue. Return authorizations will not be issued for merchandise after 90 days from the date of invoice. Returns are subject to a 25% restocking fee, $8.00 transaction fee, and must be returned freight prepaid and in re-saleable condition. Collect shipments will be refused. No credit will be issued for abused or customer damaged merchandise.


Credit Card Chargebacks
US Markerboard makes every effort to fulfill and resolve all orders and issues in a timely manner. If a customer files a chargeback request for non-delivery of merchandise and it is found that the product shipped in a timely manner, the chargeback fee will be charged to the customer for that inquiry. We respectfully request that all issues be addressed to the customer service manager and that all inquiries be handled directly with US Markerboard.


Custom Orders
Custom orders are non-returnable and non-refundable. This includes larger boards that are made in multiple sections. Once entered into our system, cancellation fees plus material and production costs incurred at the time of cancellation will be adjusted on your invoice.

Lead times may vary due to the complexity of your order.


Freight Terms
Shipments are FOB Factory. This will be determined based on the location of the nearest factory or distribution location closet to you. Customer is responsible for all accessorial charges, which consist of, but are not limited to, charges such as inside delivery, residential charges, redelivery charges, address corrections, call before delivery, and use of other size vehicles. Please be advised that all of our products over 3' x 4' in carton size, must ship via truck, LTL or common carrier. The driver by law is only required to bring the product to the back of the truck or tailgate. They are not responsible to bring the product in the building. You will need to provide assistance in getting it off the truck unless other arrangements are made in advance. This is standard throughout the shipping industry. Please contact a US Markerboard with any questions. US Markerboard will not be responsible for special routing or delivery instructions not noted at the time of order.

If you decide you need inside delivery, you can do so by using the carrier name and tracking information provided in your shipping confirmation email. Please note that you must instruct the driver if the product is to be delivered to a floor above the first. US Markerboard is not responsible for any damage to product or premises if damage occurs during the moving process.

Deliveries are generally made during the hours of 8am - 5pm Monday thru Friday, local time.


Free Shipping Offers
No minimums order size. Does not include custom items; standard size items only. Offer excludes Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico. Customer is responsible for all accessorial charges, which consist of, but are not limited to, charges such as inside delivery, residential charges, redelivery charges, address corrections, call before delivery, and use of other size vehicles. For more information about shipping costs, please refer to our Freight Terms section.

Product Defects
If the product has a manufacturer defect, please notify us immediately upon noticing that defect. All of our porcelain magnetic boards have a 50 year warranty on the writing surface. Most all other products have a manufacturer backed 1 year limited warranty. If a determination that a defect has occurred we will replace the product free of all charges in a very timely manner.


International Orders
For orders that require truck or common carrier, and the delivery via water, US Markerboard will assist in getting the product to the nearest shipping port. The client will be responsible for delivery from that point, as well as freight charges incurred to get it to the original port. All taxes, duties, and accessorial charges are the responsibility of the client. For orders that can ship via UPS, FEDEX or DHL, domestic charges will apply to the original bill, and all accessorial charges such as duties, taxes, etc. will be the responsibility of the client.


Change Orders
In the event that a customer needs to change any information on an order already placed in the US Markerboard system, a $12.50 fee will be added to the order's invoice for this service. This includes delivery instructions, color changes, size or quantity changes.


Rush Orders
If a customer requires the product quicker than the normal lead time, and arrangements have been made and discussed with a US Markerboard Customer Service Representative in advance, a schedule of delivery will offered. Approval in writing is required, and a rush charge will be added to the invoice for this order. The amount of the charges will be provided to the customer in advance and approved by the customer before any manufacturing can begin.


Storage Charges
If a product is received at the local terminal and a delivery attempt has been made, the customer could incur storage fees from the carrier if product is not delivered within 5 business days from the first date of delivery. The customer will be responsible for these charges.


Product Color
US Markerboard makes every effort to show the actual color of the item you are purchasing. Every computer monitor shows color slightly different. If at any time you are in question as to the actual color of a product or parts of a product, you may request a color chart be sent to you. We suggest that you do this prior to the ordering process, especially if you are trying to match a specific color. US Markerboard cannot guarantee color matches. Dye lots in manufacturing do vary ever so slightly.


Pricing
Pricing is subject to manufacturer suggested retail price and can change without notice.


Product Availability
Although many of our products are available for 48-hour shipment, we do run into delays when raw materials are unavailable. In the unlikely event that a product you are looking for is backordered we will offer you alternatives of available product. You may choose to stay with you original choice or choose the alternative. We will not substitute without written authorization from you.


Warranties
All products are subject to manufacturer's written warranties. We resolve to fix any product resulting from manufacturer's defect. If defective, US Markerboard, will at its option, repair or replace the defective product. Warranty does not apply to damage resulting from misuse, abuse or neglect. Please call for a copy of the warranties that apply to your products.
